Departmental Executive Management Information System (DEMIS)

The Departmental Executive Management Information System (DEMIS) is a web-based planning and management information system. DEMIS can generate several different of types reports, including general academic reports, payroll gross and fringe reports, and student administration reports. DEMIS uses role-based access, which means that you are granted access to subject areas depending on your status or role by a data steward. 

Tableau Visual Analytics

Tableau is a data visualization and analytics platform that allows users to answer questions interactively.  KU’s Interactive Fact Book includes publicly available data on enrollment, degrees, credit hours, tuition and fees, retention and graduation, historical trends, and surveys.  The Tableau Visual Analytics server provides numerous additional analyses to KU employees.  Some Visual Analytics dashboards are available to all non-student campus employees; others are restricted based on employee responsibility.  Subject areas in Visual Analytics include academic and student data, academic administration, advising, employment and destination data, enrollment management, faculty administration, financial aid, graduate studies, retention and graduation, and undergraduate studies. 

Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)

Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) is a system that provides reporting for financial, human resource, and Perceptive Content data. For financial data, OAC tracks all budgets, expenditures, and projections for all funds, including sponsored projects and endowment funds. For human resource data, OAC provides insights into employee demographic, compensation, and funding information. For Perceptive Content, OAC identifies data for metrics including counts and timeframes. OAC is accessible online by all active KU faculty and staff but some reports and data are only accessible to certain faculty and staff because of an implemented security strategy.

Data Cookbook is a collaborative data dictionary and data governance tool. Use Data Cookbook to discover data definitions and report specifications.

Qualtrics Support

Qualtrics is our user-friendly, free web-based survey software available to University of Kansas faculty, staff and students.

 

Usage Agreement

Access to University of Kansas decision-support information is provided for official university business only. Inappropriate use may result in monitoring and reporting of such use to appropriate authorities and can result in the revocation of your access to OAC, Data Cookbook, or Qualtrics (KU Decision Support Tools) and notification to your supervisors.

KU Decision Support Tools use your KU Online ID for authentication. In order to obtain access to KU Decision Support Tools, you agree not to share your KU Online ID and password with others.

You also agree to comply with the policies of the University of Kansas regarding the proper use of computing resources. Remember that database information, particularly student and personnel information is CONFIDENTIAL, and you are responsible for maintaining that trust. Knowingly releasing or misusing confidential information from official records may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
