Tableau is a data visualization and analytics platform that allows users to answer questions interactively. KU’s Interactive Fact Book includes publicly available data on enrollment, degrees, credit hours, tuition and fees, retention and graduation, historical trends, and surveys. The Tableau Visual Analytics server provides numerous additional analyses to KU employees. Some Visual Analytics dashboards are available to all non-student campus employees; others are restricted based on employee responsibility. Subject areas in Visual Analytics include academic and student data, academic administration, advising, employment and destination data, enrollment management, faculty administration, financial aid, graduate studies, retention and graduation, and undergraduate studies.
Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) is a system that provides reporting for financial, human resource, and Perceptive Content data. For financial data, OAC tracks all budgets, expenditures, and projections for all funds, including sponsored projects and endowment funds. For human resource data, OAC provides insights into employee demographic, compensation, and funding information. For Perceptive Content, OAC identifies data for metrics including counts and timeframes. OAC is accessible online by all active KU faculty and staff but some reports and data are only accessible to certain faculty and staff because of an implemented security strategy.
